Power Hour

Daily time for students to achieve academic success by receiving help with their homework, tutoring and extra practice on challenging subjects. Youth development professionals and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure our members are provided with a supportive learning environment.

Math Club

This program aims to have children become eager to learn mathematics. In small groups with their peers or individually, members can practice math skills that are personalized for them through games, art, worksheets and online activities.

In addition, the Club is now using artificial intelligence robots as part of its math enrichment program – the first of its kind in South Carolina. Club members in grades 3-5 who are enrolled in the Club’s math program now interact with desktop smart robots that teach students core math skills in a fun and interactive way – keeping them fully engaged.

Lexia Reading Program & Learning CenteR

This program provides independent reading assistance and coaching using Lexia software that is personalized for each member. Organized and led by an experienced, certified teacher, this program is designed to lift students who fall below grade level in reading and inspire a joy of reading at all ages.

Technology Education

Club members develop critical thinking and problem solving skills by participating in tech programs such as computer coding, digital literacy, 3-D printing, digital photography and virtual reality. Dozens of computers, tablets, a drone and a robotics program are used to develop knowledge of technology, grow essential technical skills and inspire the engineers and inventors of tomorrow.

STeaM Education/ MAKERSPace

We provide hands-on education through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Through our Makerspace, children are given tools and materials to design creative projects that teach them the fundamentals of construction, manufacturing and design. Our Cadet Room is a robust learning environment for younger members to play imaginatively in pre-constructed environments such as shops, offices and schools.

Diplomas 2 Degrees

Diplomas to Degrees (D2D) provides a range of services to guide Club members as they work toward high school graduation and prepare for post-secondary education and career success. D2D also teaches useful tips on achieving academic and financial success and provides help planning for college.

CAREERLAUNCH

CareerLaunch is the Club’s job-readiness and career preparation program specifically for teens. It provides fun and interactive activities for youth ages 13–18 to explore a broad range of career areas, match their interests to career clusters and identify the skills and education needed for their particular career path and prepare teens for their first job.
